Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American Sportcaster. She's an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation often. She joined ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of journalists on TV Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first role as producer assistant at Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as a reporter for an affiliate of the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. The year 2009 saw her move into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs throughout Texas as well as Mexico. Her duties as an anchor on weather and sports was frequent requests. In the following, she anchored and also reported for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. Her parents divorced soon after in 1995. Her mother married with a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a time of summer when she was together with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta she was a high school senior who had a vision of how she envisioned her future career would be, decided to visit Mount Union University in order to find out if the school suited her. She discovered that she enjoyed the university, and the university offered the degree she was looking for. She completed her schooling and was accepted into the University with a degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and was also the director of WRMU where she's a member. They had a very close friendship. He inspired her to be self-confident and his passion for journalism was deeply affecting her as did she. She was determined to fulfill his standards and never disappoint him.
