Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actor since the late 1980s. Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor. Bassett was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an aunt who lived in New York New York. Bassett along with her sister aged five, old, moved away from the city of their birth to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. Bassett chose to become an actress after she saw the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. She went to Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) with a major in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. She was married in 1997. married Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. The Yale School of Drama conferred an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Basssett in the year 1980. She attended the institutions that she attended: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for 7th graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th & 9th grades as well as Boca Ciega High School.
